1980 Mazda RX-7, $3,800

So clean. So very, very clean. But seriously, why not have a nice summer car and a crummy winter car, like a WRX or something? Then your favorite, the RX-7, you can take care of it.

And here's the kicker: it's in Madison, Wisconsin--two hours from Chicago, where I have to go again in July. You buy the car and take care of the paperwork, we fly out together, and drive it back. You thought the trip was epic in a Ford? Ha.

One owner 1980 RX-7 GS purchased and driven in Washington State, and shipped to Wisconsin in 2009 and mostly stored. 59,000 miles, You won't find a nicer one at this price in original unrestored condition. It's hard to find RX-7's of this vintage and condition that haven't been customized or modified. Here's your chance to own a collectable original without paying the collectable price.

  1. This could be the first white car I like. I like the model, the location, the price. I wonder how it goes. Both of mine were underpowered. In your scenario, I would own zero convertibles. Hmm.

    1. It's going to be mechanically identical to a '79. The only difference is a slightly upgraded interior.
